Since 1976, Kerry Mormann & Associates has been the recognized leader in Santa Barbara County for the marketing and sale of Ranches, Agricultural Properties, Estates, and Vineyards. With well over 300 sales under our belt, we are familiar with most of the ranches in our territory. In fact, we have probably sold most of those ranches, sometimes more than once. Our inventory of properties for sale usually ranges from between 5 - 25 listings priced between $1 - 150 Million. Our largest sale ever, the Cojo - Jalama Ranch, listed at $155 Million, closed in January 2007. This may be the most expensive non-commercial real estate sale in California history.

Farm and ranch brokering is a very different business when compared to residential real estate and requires a high degree of technical knowledge where exchanges and complex contingencies are common. Over the past 20 years, we have closed hundreds of escrows averaging over $30 million in sales per year. Typical listed properties range in size from 5 acres up to 24,000+ with price ranging from $500,000 to over $150 million. Property usages in the county include equestrian, grazing, dry farming, irrigated farming, vineyards, orchards, recreation, luxury estates, and private lifestyle properties.

Kerry Mormann and Associates maintains an independent office in Santa Barbara and a branch office in Los Olivos, both offering traditional one-on-one service. In this specialized market, we cover all of Santa Barbara County and portions of Ventura and San Luis Obispo County.

Kerry Mormann

Kerry Mormann started his career in the real estate business as an apprentice appraiser and learned the analytical side of the business.   After selling a few houses, he sold a 400 acre ranch to a client who then purchased three adjacent ranches totaling over 2000 acres.  These were highly complex transactions with numerous title problems.  Kerry found he enjoyed the challenges of researching all of the technicalities involved and decided to specialize in ranch and land properties. 

Over the years, Kerry's clients have included major corporations such as Ticor Title Insurance, Wells Fargo Bank, Bank of Montecito, Bank of America, City Commerce Bank, Central Coast Production Credit, The Resolution Trust Corporation, Arco, Chevron, Texaco, numerous Hollywood celebrities, and wealthy individuals seeking privacy and discerning lifestyle choice.

 

John Vogel

John Vogel began his real estate career in 1991 working as a Property Manager for a large Santa Barbara firm. He received his Broker's license in 1996. He continued a broad education in the business by working as a manager, a mortgage broker, and by selling houses. In late 1999 he was offered a position by Kerry Mormann and jumped at the chance to ditch his tie, put on his boots and get to work in the beautiful countryside of Santa Barbara County.

Since then, Johnny has sold dozens of properties ranging from small "ranchettes" to large parcels of vacant land. He especially enjoys hopping into his Jeep and showing the "rough stuff," where most other real estate agents fear to tread. Drew Stime

Drew Stime has been an active agent with Kerry Mormann for the past 12 years.  Drew first came to Santa Barbara in 1992 to attend Westmont College and Santa Barbara has been home ever since. 

Drew excels on finding the perfect property for the most discriminating clients regardless of size.  Drew's expertise ranges from Oceanfront homes to large 1,000 acre plus ranches.  His online marketing experience coupled with an eye for detail and strong negotiation skills keeps him a valuable part of the KMA team.

 

 

 

Eli Parker

Eli Parker brings an incredible amount of experience in the field of vineyard management and winemaking to our firm. Since 1987 Eli has been heavily involved in the art of fine wine production.

Starting in the fields, Eli learned from the masters of his craft. His hard work and study led him to become President of the Fess Parker Winery, one of the premier labels of Santa Barbara County. His knowledge of the wine making business and the Santa Ynez valley make it easy for him to assist our clients looking to buy vineyard, or potential vineyard land.

 

 

Brad Berch

Brad Berch joined our company in 2008 and handles most of our San Luis Obispo and Paso Robles properties. Brad is a top performing Real Estate Agent. In fact, Brad ranked in the Top 3% of Prudential Agents Nationwide many times prior to joining us. Paul Schulte

Paul “Pablo” Schulte is a member of one of the most recognized and accomplished local families in Santa Barbara.  His father was Rudi Schulte, an immigrant from Germany whose innovation in medical engineering and savvy business practices led to great success in our area.  The Shulte family has been and continues to be one of the most active families in the world of south coast real estate.  Paul has been a licensed agent since 1980, primarily making his name in the field of real estate finance.  He spent ten years as a property manager for VIP Future Corporation, twenty years as a Senior VP in the banking industry, and is well versed in mortgage financing, appraisal, and sales of large ranches.
